Lake Taylor Middle School Reviews

I used to teach at LTMS. It has always been my belief that a school will not change unless the parents demand it. It will take up all your attention but the LAW is on your side. LTMS could have brought upon itself and NPS a host of lawsuits for violating the rights of children w/ disabilities alone. Threaten thier money and you will quickly get thier attention. Parents need to know that they actually hold all the cards because Federal law is on thier side. Parents need to be informed and act relentlessly. I had to be this way to protect my children from the beaurocracy of Virginia Beach P.S. And that's there- so imagine NPS. Always remember, federal law is on your side and always be vigilant. The future of LTMS belongs with the parents, who have always wanted the best for thier children as I remember it. Your child's future is in your hands, where it has always been, and should be. Be strong.

I hate the area that you live in determines where your child goes to school. This school is one of the worst in Norfolk. I wont speak on all the teachers because I don't know them all. However the ones that I have had to come in contact with are not prepared for the tasks this school has. Students have no respect, partly becuase of home but also because of the teachers. Esembler is not used properly by teachers, some wait until the week that report cards go out to update. how can a parent keep up as Esembler was designed. Food fights, riots and other fights are amongst the things my child had to endure

I must commend the leadership at LTMS, they really have their hands full. With parental involvement and a clear mission, this school has the potential to become one of Norfolk's World Class schools.

I believe that Lake Taylor Middle is a great school. They keep the parents involved in what thier children are doing in school and they also provide great academic programs to help improve children who are struggling. This school has wonderful gifted athletes, and also all around gifted students. Keep up the good work Lake Taylor. GO VIKINGS!

I am now spending in excess of $600 per month plus supplies for my children to get an education in the Norfolk area, a task which seems impossible in the Norfolk Public Schools that my tax dollars pay for. The majority of teachers themselves are undereducated as well as the administration and the trickle down effect is horrendous. Needless to say, if you're planning on moving to this area and looking into the schools here, after much experience with 4 children, factor private school into your budget.
